KLE Society’s Lingaraj College, (Autonomous), Belagavi
Department of History:
A Profile along with the establishment of Lingaraj College at Belagavi in 1933, Department of History too was established. The department was well-known for imparting History of Asia, History of Europe, History of World, History of Ancient India, History of Medieval India, History of Modern India and History of Mysore. Hence it attracted good number of students from Bombay Karnataka region during pre-independent days. The reputation of the department has been enhanced by competent professorial staff eversince its establishment. At Present History of Contemporary India, History of Contemporary Karnataka and Tourism have been imparted apart from the subjects mentioned above.
